Anthony Johnson (b. c. 1600 – d. 1670) was a black slave from Angola who achieved freedom in the early 17th-century Colony of Virginia and was granted land by the colony. Johnson had several white indentured servants and a black male slave. Anthony Johnson was one of the first people in Virginia to win the right to legally own black slaves, but he was not the first slave owner.
