Wikipedia, a tool of the Ruling Class (On Contact w/ Chris Hedges)

Published on May 2, 2021
Wikipedia is trusted more than the news media. While that doesn't mean as much as it used to, the fifth most popular website is beloved by many as an open, equal-access platform, a utopian "people's encyclopedia" that anyone can edit. In reality, it is a swamp of propaganda used to push the establishment narrative, with politically-sensitive areas tightly controlled by editorial cliques tasked with ensuring the relevant entries are on-message. Wikipedia is nothing less than a tool for manipulating reality in real-time. As a social experiment, it has value. As an encyclopedia or repository of fact, it is worse than worthless.
